Christianity Today and Jesus Teaching

We trying to figure out what is Christianity and we find about Christianity today and what Jesus teaching.

leave a comment below if you have another opinion, feel free to share your mind.

TEACHING OF JESUS:
1. Jesus is the messenger of God (Jesus did not ask himself to be worshiped).

5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.
(Matthew 10: 5-6)

He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
(Matthew 15:24)

42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”
(John 11:42)

3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
(John 17: 3)

16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.(John 13: 16)

20 Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”

(John 13:20)

“You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
(John 14:28)

CHRISTIANITY TODAY:

1. Jesus is God according to Paul’s statement.

6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

(1 Corinthians 8: 6)

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
(Romans 10: 9)

I think, Paul tried to indoctrinate others that only by believing Jesus as Lord and believing that Jesus had risen from the dead would he be saved.
In the teachings of Paul / Christianity, Jesus was promoted more like God than God / Father. Compare with Jesus’ statements that emphasize God / Father as the One God.

TEACHING OF JESUS:
2. Jesus did not cancel the Torah law.

17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

(Matthew 5:17-20)

CHRISTIANITY TODAY:

2. Paul about Torah law.

16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in[a] Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

(Galatians 2:16)

ok, I think The Torah Law is part of the teachings of Jesus which must be carried out by his people? Because…

19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:19)

==============

TEACHING OF JESUS:

3. Fulfillment (nasakh) of Jesus on some law.

29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

(Matthew 5:29-30)

But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne;
(Matthew 5:34)

CHRISTIANITY TODAY:
3. Christians side about the fulfillment (nasakh) of Jesus.

Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
(Romans 10: 4)

Christians completely reject the eye and “cut off” hand law as Jesus commanded (Matthew 5: 29-30).

TEACHING OF JESUS:

4. Jesus was circumcised at the age of eight according to God’s command.

21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

(Luke 2:21)

10 This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised.

11 You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you.

12 For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner—those who are not your offspring.

13 Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant.

14 Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.”
(Genesis 17:10-14)

When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God commanded him.
(Genesis 21: 4)

CHRISTIANITY TODAY:

4. Christians do not require circumcision.

6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
(Galatians 5: 6)

Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God’s commands is what counts.
(1 Corinthians 7:19)

Circumcision is a manifestation of the eternal covenant between God and Abraham and his descendants, which cannot be denied by anyone. 14 Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant (Genesis 17:14) and there is also HUGE Scientific health benefit from Circumcision.

TEACHING OF JESUS:

5. There is no inheritance sin in the teachings of Jesus.

20 The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.
(Ezekiel 18:20)

14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
(Mark 10:14)

CHRISTIANITY TODAY:

5. Christians teach the inheritance sin from Adam according to Paul’s statement.

12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned
(Romans 5:12)

TEACHING OF JESUS:

6. Jesus commands a lot of ablution when fasting and teaches prostration and praying while prostration.

But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face,

(Matthew 6:17)

39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
(Matthew 26:39)

31 and Moses and Aaron and his sons used it to wash their hands and feet. 32 They washed whenever they entered the tent of meeting or approached the altar, as the Lord commanded Moses.

(Exodus 40: 31-32)

6 Moses and Aaron went from the assembly to the entrance to the tent of meeting and fell facedown, and the glory of the Lord appeared to them.

(Numbers 20: 6)

2 Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.”

3 Abram fell facedown, and God said to him,

(Genesis 17: 2-3)

CHRISTIANITY TODAY:

6. Christians teach singing in the church according to Paul’s command.

19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,

(Ephesians 5:19)

16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
(Colossians 3:16)

Singing in church is not Jesus’ teaching, but Paul’s (Ephesians 5:19).

==============

TEACHING OF JESUS:

7. Jesus forbade living a luxurious life on earth.

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
(Matthew 6: 19-20)

CHRISTIANITY TODAY:

7. There is no prohibition on living in Christian luxury according to Paul’s statement.

28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
(Ephesians 4:28)

==============

TEACHING OF JESUS:

8. Jesus died wrapped in a linen shroud.

59 Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

60 and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away.

(Matthew 27:59-60)

40 Taking Jesus’ body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs.
(John 19:40)

CHRISTIANITY TODAY:

you know that.

==============

TEACHING OF JESUS:

9. Jesus did not cancel the stoning law.

5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?”
6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger.
7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”
(John 8: 5-7)

CHRISTIANITY TODAY:

9. There is no stoning in Christianity.

16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
(Galatians 2:16)

Christians completely reject the stoning of adulterers, which of course contradicts Jesus’ commands to his people (John 8: 7).

==============

TEACHING OF JESUS:

10. Jesus did not make a new religion.

( Matthew 5: 17-20)

CHRISTIANITY TODAY

10. Christianity is a new religion that was born in the time of Paul (after the time of Jesus).

26 and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.
(Acts 11:26)
